All About AmazinAdrielle - I!

After brainstorming some things relating to my life, I have created this lovely alphabet about me - so you can get to know me a little better! You can also find more information about me on my website =).

---------------------------------------------

I is for...

Insects -
I am fascinated by creatures of all kinds, including insects and invertebrates =D. I like to take pictures of interesting insects that I find!

A photo of a fly on an orchid petal!
A red and black spider I saw by the river!
Some sort of insect on a lemon!
iPad - I love my iPad! It means that when I am too unwell to sit up and use my laptop, I can still Tweet, check my emails, play games, listen to music, watch tv and videos, Skype and iMessage people, and do some work from bed. I also love the way I can take pictures with it and share them with my friends =D.

Some iPad drawings =).

iPad art - I can also use my iPad to create art! For drawing, I mainly use the ArtRage and ProCreate apps. I used to make animations using DoInk, but then the app updated and I have trouble using it with the new positioning of buttons (because of my unstable arms and shoulders). Some of my iPad animations can be found here.

Some Halloween icing sculpting and a rainbow cupcake!

Icing - I love eating icing, and I also love sculpting it into different things and decorating cakes!

Two of the Cursed Isles I designed =).

Island design - I was a member of the Island Design team for the Puzzle Pirates game for a few years, and designed five of the Cursed Isles scenes.

Pixel zebras and a glittery rainbow!

In addition, I studied International Studies in VCE, I have had many many injuries due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I like ice-cream, and I love to use my imagination! I also make little icons sometimes, for various purposes.

All About AmazinAdrielle - H!

After brainstorming some things relating to my life, I have created this lovely alphabet about me - so you can get to know me a little better! You can also find more information about me on my website =).

---------------------------------------------

H is for...

Hands - I have really bendy hands and fingers because I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I used to do party tricks to impress and gross out my friends - but then my hands started to get sore and weak. It got to the stage where I couldn't pick up a cup with them because the fingers would just bend backwards and had no strength. After I got finger splints, my hands gradually improved. They stopped hurting and swelling, and I regained strength and control in my fingers! Most days now, I can use my hands to type, draw, brush my teeth etc. just like other people =D.

My hand without and with my finger splints.

Home - I am very glad to have a home! I live in a house with my parents, sister, birds, fish, turtles, and cat in Victoria, Australia. We have lived in this house for almost 20 years, and it is an awesome place!

Kec and I one Halloween!

Halloween - Although Halloween is not widely celebrated here in Australia, each year, Ellenya, Kec and I dress up, decorate, and eat Halloween-themed food!

Various pictures of my hair colours over the years!

Hair color - I like to dye my hair bright colours. In high school, I mostly tinted my brown hair with blue or purple dye - so that it was really obvious in the sun, but more subtle in the shade or indoors. When I was at university, I had a rainbow in my hair (like a stripe down one side with different colours in it - sometimes a rainbow, sometimes pinks and blues). There was no hiding the rainbow! I loved it, but it had to be redone every few weeks or it would start to fade and grow out, so I eventually dyed it back to match the rest of my hair. I had multi-coloured foils in the underneath layer of my hair for a while after that, but lately I have gone back to the blue and purple tinted look. For my next hair colour adventure, I am planning to do the ombre/fading from one color to another thing - but with my regular browny colour fading into a bright pink. I just need to find the energy - and a willing assistant =D.

Happiness - I like being happy - and mostly I am!

All About AmazinAdrielle - G!

After brainstorming some things relating to my life, I have created this lovely alphabet about me - so you can get to know me a little better! You can also find more information about me on my website =).

---------------------------------------------

G is for...

Glasses - I've needed glasses since I was about 12 years old - but I hated wearing them when I was at school. They were always getting caught when I tried to do acrobatics, and they always seemed to need cleaning. I wore contact lenses while I was in the circus and at university - but had to switch back to glasses again when I started needing stronger pain relief for my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as the medications make my eyes too dry. I have two pairs of glasses at the moment - one is pale blue with little gems in the sides of the frames, and the others are purple. The lenses in the purple pair turn dark in the sun =D.

Me wearing my purple glasses!
Grass rash - I spent most of my childhood and teenage years with an ailment that is locally known as grass rash (an allergic reaction to grass that you get when you roll in it, lie in it... or start a backyard acrobatic troupe that trains every night on the front or back lawn)!

Franklin turtle on our back lawn!
Garden - I like our garden, and my turtles like it too! I like to take pictures of the plants that grow in our garden, and of the bugs and animals that visit =D. I also sometimes write poems about the garden.

Multicoloured glitter stripes on my nails!
Glitter - I love glitter! I have celebrated its shininess in poetry, artwork, pixel animation and photography. I also love glitter nail polish and make-up - and well - anything glittery, really!

Some of my glitter graphics!

Games - I've always loved playing games! I started playing Jack Attack with my dad on Commodore 64 as a preschooler. When I got a bit older, I conquered my parents' high scores on the old orange handheld version of Donkey Kong, and started playing PC games like Tetris Classic, Keen, Pipe Dream, Word Zap, Pandemonium, Pitfall, Chip's Challenge, and Aladdin. I also loved playing the Super Mario Bros. games with my cousins, but I didn't have a Nintendo.

When I was about eight, I got a Game Boy Pocket and some games (Donkey Kong Land III, and some retro ones like Oil Panic), and a couple of years later, I saved up and bought a Super Nintendo - with Super Mario All Stars! =D. I also collected other games over the years (like Wario's Woods, Tetris & Dr. Mario, Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island). Almost 20 years later, that console and those games all still work!

My drawing of an Oddworld Scrab!
When I was around 10 or 11, I started playing Abe's Oddysee on PC, and I got a Playstation when I was 12 so that I could get Abe's Exoddus (which is still one of my favourite games). I was disappointed when the next Oddworld title came out on XBox, as I could never hope to afford one of those (although, having played the game since, I think I would've been terribly disappointed if I'd somehow managed to save enough money to get it! It just was -not- the same!) On Playstation, I played Medievil, Crash Bandicoot, and the Spice Girls game - but even I - a die hard fan of the group at the time - couldn't stand to play that last one for very long... LOL!

I played a lot of Windows games in my later years of high school - while waiting for various study materials to download on our dial-up internet - and with a computer (cleverly built from recycled bits of other old computers) that would keel over if I tried to use anything else at the same time as Internet Explorer. By the time I finished high school, we had broadband. I started playing games on Miniclip (like Crypt Raider, and other puzzle games) while I was waiting for lecture notes to download and print. Then I started to play Puzzle Pirates - an obsession that lasted seven years. My dad also got a Wii during this time, and I had fun buying all the old Super Mario games to play on it =D.

When I was at university, I had an iPod touch, and played lots of word games. After I'd finished my course, I got an iPad, and became a bit addicted to various iPad games - especially word and puzzle games. I loved Plants vz. Zombies survival mode, and I held the top score in Scramble 2, Jumbline 2, and Letris and various other word games for varying lengths of time (although I am nowhere near the top now!)

The games I play most at the moment are iPad games (like Bejeweled, Montezuma, Pocket Legends, Take It Easy, Letris Friends, Spell Tower, PAC-CHAIN, Elemental Knights Online, and various games to learn Spanish) and PC games on MiniClip and Steam. I am also helping to beta test an awesome new game from Double Cluepon Studios, called Emerald Kingdom.

Some of my Puzzle Pirates art - eggs and trinket designs!

Game art - I've always liked games, and game art. As a kid, I was captivated by the way that game artists and animators could make pixels move to create the game graphics, and I wanted to make art like that one day. In adulthood, this is still one of my many dreams. I was really excited to get my work in the Puzzle Pirates game in 2010-2013.

Some of my Puzzle Pirates portrait background designs.

Golden Key International Honour Society - I became a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society during my time at university. I was used to getting congratulatory letters from the Dean and faculty heads, but the golden key invite was a special bonus - a pretty invitation with gold on it! It was pretty cool =D.

All About AmazinAdrielle - F!

After brainstorming some things relating to my life, I have created this lovely alphabet about me - so you can get to know me a little better! You can also find more information about me on my website =).

---------------------------------------------

F is for...

Fan - my ceiling fan is really noisy. Sometimes when I Skype people, they think it is an alien hovercraft of some kind.

Freckles - I got my first few freckles when I was four years old. I now have lots!

Fish - I share my house with some fish, including three angelfish (Pearlie, Rain and Nilla), a blue severum (Shortie), two silver sharks (Big Sharkie and Little Sharkie), and some feeder fish. Nilla is blind in one eye because of an infection she suffered when she was little - but she is able to use the reflective walls and floor of her tank to see all of her surroundings with her good eye :D. In the past, we also bred angelfish and severums. Unfortunately, some of our tanks were exposed to TB, and we lost several fish :(. We now can't introduce any new fish to any of the tanks housing fish that may have been exposed. We love our fish, though =).

Fibromyalgia - I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was around 24 years old. I had been ill with ME/CFS, POTS and what my doctor thinks may have been a viral form of arthritis before that, as well as undiagnosed Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS).

Fractures - having EDS means that I dislocate a lot of bones. I have also had some fractures, including broken ribs (from running full on into a trampoline frame in the dark when I was nine), a cracked sternum (from experimenting with 'a safety harness' made from various bits of swing set, when I was about ten), a broken patella (from my first major knee dislocation, when I was 11 - the bone was torn in half from the force), three fractures in two metatarsals (from showing off at school by doing acrobatics when I was 16), and a broken toe (from dropping a milkshake glass on it from a tray I was carrying when I was in my early 20s).

Food - I like food (including fudge, finger buns and fruit), and I have a sweet tooth! I also like decorating cakes!

Flowers - I like flowers =D. Our garden has lots of them! I like to take pictures of flowers, and to draw them.

Factory - My first major assignment for Certificate III in Media was a short animated movie about a factory! I had lots of fun designing, modeling, texturing, animating, and lighting the factory model, and putting the final movie together =D.

Fascinator - my family and I often joke about using different things as a fascinator... one year, on Melbourne Cup Day, we found a fascinator kit and made our own!

In addition, I love my human and animal family, and my friends (most of whom are online). I also collect the pretty feathers that my budgies drop, I love to visit the forest, and when my wrists and hands won't work, I sometimes draw using my feet!
